I cannot thank you enough for the support and guidance you offered me when I was going through a very trying and painful time in my life. You saw me through a bad break up and the death of my father. Before seeing you, i had taken a leave of absence from school and quit my job in order to take care of my mother in her last months. I was becoming a loner, depressed and not functional. You provided me with valuable tools to cope better with my difficult life situation and regain my perspective. My family didn’t know I was in treatment and after the third session mentioned how I seemed calmer and more content. You empowered me to take control of my life and that is exactly what I did. I will always be grateful.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! You got me to fly on an airplane in time for a very important business meeting across the country. I didn’t think I could do it but you taught me how to change my thinking about flying and keep myself relaxed while in flight. I’m so glad I was lucky enough to find the right doctor!
Just when I thought you couldn’t teach an old dog new tricks, you taught me a bunch of them! I’ve struggled with social anxiety all my life and was always too afraid to ask women out, make public speeches, or even tell a joke to a group of friends. You helped me build the confidence to do the things I’ve always avoided. I no longer feel that people are judging me in the way I think they are. I have started dating and enjoy social outings so much more since starting to see you. Thanks again for all your help.
If it weren’t for you, i would probably be bald by now. You helped me stop pulling after over 20 years of this damaging behavior. I never thought I would be able to stop and I did! You worked a miracle!
Dear Dr. Shinar,
You helped me more than you know. My panic attacks were so bad that I was always ending up in the ER at least once a week and in just a few visits you taught me how to get them under control. I no longer worry that I’m having a heart attack. I understand how to control the symptoms and no longer fear the fear. You’re the best!
I just want to thank you for making me believe in myself again. My anxiety was so bad that I didn't think I would ever get a promotion or date again. You took the time to explain the biology of my anxiety and you didn't judge me for it and helped me get over the daily struggles. Thank you for your compassion and patience. I know I was a tough patient!
